In a diplomatic initiative with national and academic implications, Lebanon's Ambassador to Poland, George Fadel, accompanied by journalist and lecturer at the Polish State University, Khaled Zain Al-Din, visited Dr. Wojciech Marczewski, Director General of Equivalency at the Polish Ministry of Education. The meeting focused on the issue of Lebanese high school certificate equivalency in Poland, which is often accompanied by complex and lengthy procedures.
During the meeting, Ambassador Fadel addressed the concerns of Lebanese citizens, particularly students, amid the challenging circumstances in Lebanon, leading to in-depth discussions on ways to facilitate the equivalency process for Lebanese certificates.
Following extensive efforts and constructive discussions, a preliminary agreement was reached to recognize Lebanese high school certificates in Poland. This agreement will enable Lebanese students to continue their studies and enroll in various Polish universities following established legal protocols.
Additionally, an agreement was made to reduce the equivalency processing time from approximately six months to no more than two weeks, provided that applicants meet the necessary legal requirements and documentation. This step represents significant facilitation for Lebanese students.
This advancement is a testament to the Lebanese diplomatic efforts, represented by Ambassador George Fadel, and his dedication to addressing the issues faced by Lebanese nationals in Poland, particularly in the fields of education and academic attainment.
The participants confirmed the initiation of necessary procedures to expedite the equivalency process, with future discussions planned with the ministry to explore the possibility of waiving the equivalency requirement for Lebanese citizens.
