President Donald Trump dismissed the prospect of the United States entering a new war on Thursday, emphasizing the country's possession of "virtually unlimited" stocks of medium and high-level munitions and its ability to manage any potential emergency.
Commenting on the conflict with Iran in a post on his "Truth Social" platform, Trump stated that the U.S. has "nearly limitless reserves of medium and high-level munitions," adding that these far exceed what Washington might require for the current war or in "any other war," which he described as "highly unlikely."
The American president asserted that the country is currently boosting its munitions production to unprecedented levels, stating: "We are stockpiling them and preparing for any potential emergency."
Trump's remarks come amid questions about the impact of military operations against Iran on America's munitions stocks and the readiness of the armed forces to respond to potential crises in other world regions.
Recently, U.S. military leaders cautioned Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth that prolonged large-scale operations against Iran might reduce combat readiness and limit the U.S.'s capability to address threats on other fronts.
