An inside source revealed to The New York Times the real reason behind the delay of President Donald Trump's flight to Dallas, Texas.
The source disclosed that the delay was due to the deployment of the emergency evacuation slide on the President's aircraft.
Trump previously explained the incident as merely a test of the emergency slide's function, stating to reporters before boarding, "They want to ensure everything is working perfectly."
However, the newspaper reported that a military aide to the President mistakenly activated the slide.
Reporters from the White House press pool noted that Trump arrived at Andrews Air Force Base near Washington at exactly 2:01 p.m. local time on Wednesday by helicopter.
He was supposed to transfer to the plane and head to Dallas, yet he remained in the helicopter for a prolonged period, drawing reporters' attention to the inflated and open emergency slide at the front of the new presidential plane, a gift from Qatar's ruling family.
