Teen Arrested After Shooting Father in Lebanon: Details of Escape and Capture

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces – Public Relations Division released the following statement: On August 25, 2026, in the area of Burj al-Barajneh, following a financial dispute, a young man identified as R.M. (born in 2006, Lebanese) shot at his father A.M. (born in 1968, Lebanese) with a pump-action shotgun. The father was struck in the neck and head, transported to a nearby hospital for treatment, and later succumbed to his injuries. The shooter fled to an unknown location.

Following the incident, the specialized units of the Information Division began their field and intelligence operations at the crime scene and surrounding areas to locate and apprehend the attacker.

Through investigations and inquiries, one of the division's patrols managed to identify his hiding place inside an apartment in a building near the airport road. After careful monitoring and surveillance, a raid was conducted on the specified apartment, leading to the arrest of the shooter inside.

Upon searching him, they found:

A handgun with a magazine containing 10 usable bullets, and one bullet in the chamber.

A black pump-action shotgun with red stains and a bag containing 10 usable bullets.

The detainee, along with the seized items, was handed over to the relevant authority to proceed with legal actions based on the guidance of the specialized judiciary.
