The "Education City" stadium in the Qatari capital, Doha, hosted the final match of the FIFA Club World Cup between German club Bayern Munich and Mexican club Tigres UANL.
In this match, Bayern Munich won the FIFA Club World Cup title for the second time in its history, defeating Tigres UANL by a single goal. Meanwhile, experienced French forward André-Pierre Gignac of Tigres UANL was crowned the tournament's top scorer. Gignac topped the scoring chart with 3 goals, having scored a brace in the 2-1 victory over South Korea's Ulsan Hyundai in the quarter-finals, and the winning goal against Brazilian team Palmeiras in the semi-finals. Notably, the 35-year-old veteran Gignac outperformed Polish star Robert Lewandowski, Bayern Munich's top scorer and the world's best player in 2020, who scored twice against Al Ahly in the semi-finals.
