The Egyptian artist Ezzat El Alaily criticized artist Mohamed Ramadan for his arrogance in calling himself "Number One" in the Egyptian artistic scene.
During a press conference while being honored at the 36th Alexandria Film Festival, El Alaily stated that stardom encompasses more than one artist and does not rely on a single individual. Commenting on Mohamed Ramadan's self-proclaimed title of "Number One," El Alaily said, "I am also Number One; he is a fame addict, may God heal him; let him say whatever he wants."
It is noteworthy that the Alexandria Film Festival canceled its opening ceremony due to bad weather conditions, and the festival's administration decided to honor the awardees during their tribute seminars. In its 36th edition, the festival will honor several artists, including the prominent artist Salah Abdullah, filmmaker Enas El Daghidi, cinematographer Mohsen Ahmed, and the renowned Syrian actress Raghda. The festival also honors the great artist Ezzat El Alaily, as this year’s edition bears his name. The festival's closing ceremony will take place tomorrow, Thursday, November 12.
