According to sources, users will have weeks, along with reminders, to accept the terms before losing functionality in their WhatsApp accounts. The reminders about the terms will be ongoing and will restrict users from using the app easily until they accept the new privacy terms. Sources indicated that after weeks of reminders, the user will no longer receive calls, notifications, and WhatsApp will stop sending messages and calls to the phone. Users will have no choice but to accept WhatsApp's new terms or deactivate their accounts, according to the British newspaper "The Sun."
