Saudi Health: The Number of COVID-19 Vaccine Doses Administered Exceeds 15 Million

The Saudi Ministry of Health announced that the number of COVID-19 vaccine doses administered to citizens and residents has reached 15 million. The ministry stated on its Twitter account that "more than 15 million doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been given so far through over 587 vaccination sites across all regions of the Kingdom."

The pace of vaccination against COVID-19 in Saudi Arabia is accelerating, as it was announced a few days ago that 14 million doses of the vaccine have been provided to citizens and residents through vaccination centers spread throughout different areas and provinces of the Kingdom, some of which operate 24 hours a day. These centers are experiencing high demand from the community to receive the vaccine amid organizational and precautionary measures.

The Saudi Ministry of Health has successfully vaccinated 98% of health practitioners working in vaccination centers in the country, in addition to vaccinating 93% of health practitioners working in "Tetamman" clinics and "Takkad" centers. The acceleration of the vaccination campaign against COVID-19 in the Kingdom is one of the key factors relied upon by research institutions in their forecasts for the Saudi economy, with the latest forecast by Capital Economics predicting a 6% growth in the Kingdom's economy next year.
