UAE Announces Withdrawal of Diplomats from Lebanon

The United Arab Emirates has announced the withdrawal of its diplomats from the Lebanese Republic. His Excellency Khalifa Shaheen Al Marar, Minister of State, stated that the decision to withdraw diplomats was in solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in light of the unacceptable stance taken by some Lebanese officials toward the Kingdom. His Excellency Al Marar noted that consular services and the visa center at the UAE mission in Beirut will continue to operate during this period. The UAE also decided to prohibit citizens from traveling to the Republic of Lebanon.
