The Catalan club stated in a press release on their website that the president of Barcelona, Joan Laporta, will introduce Barjuan to the players at the training facilities on Thursday. Prior to his appointment, Barjuan served as the coach of the club's B team (the second team).

The team currently sits in ninth place in the league, with 15 points from 10 matches, trailing 6 points behind rivals Real Madrid, who defeated Barcelona 2-1 at Camp Nou on Sunday.
