Turkish Airstrikes on PKK Positions in Northern Iraq

The mayor of the Amadiya district in the Kurdistan region, Warshin Suleiman, confirmed on Sunday the continuation of Turkish shelling in the Amadiya areas and their surroundings. Suleiman stated in a phone call with Al-Hurra channel that Turkish military operations are ongoing in these areas, from which residents have displaced. He added that these areas are considered "forbidden," and there are no residents present, so it is unclear what is happening there, but the Turkish side continues to target PKK positions.

The Turkish army announced conducting an airstrike in Northern Iraq, resulting in the deaths of three PKK militants, classified as terrorists. Additionally, Serbest Sabri, the director of the Kanimeh border district, confirmed ongoing clashes between the Turkish army and the PKK in the villages of Dshish and Qamri, especially during the night. Eyewitnesses from the Shiladza district in Duhok province reported that the Turkish army had intensified its military operations in the Nirwa Rikan and Doski regions, advancing about 10 kilometers into Iraqi territory to pursue PKK elements classified among terrorist groups. Witnesses also noted hearing artillery and airstrike sounds resulting from the ongoing clashes between the two sides. In a separate announcement, the Turkish army reported the killing of three PKK militants in an airstrike in northern Iraq. The Turkish Defense Ministry stated on Sunday that its forces "identified the locations of three PKK terrorists in the Lightning Claw Operation area in northern Iraq and killed them in an airstrike."
