Tragedy in Jordan: Fire in Restaurant Near University Claims Lives of 3 People

A tragic incident occurred at a popular restaurant frequented by students of the Jordan University in Amman, where three people died due to a fire that broke out inside the restaurant near the university in the capital, according to the official channel "Al-Mamlaka," citing the Public Security Directorate. The directorate stated, "Civil defense firefighting and ambulance teams dealt with a fire that ignited inside a restaurant near Jordan University... the fire resulted in the deaths of three individuals."

It added, "Ambulance teams worked to transfer the deceased to Jordan University Hospital." It was reported that the deaths were due to severe burns covering various parts of their bodies and inhalation of gases emitted from the fire. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the fire, according to the same source. The three deceased individuals, who worked at the restaurant, were preparing for work when the fire erupted, which cost them their lives.

According to sources, the fire broke out inside the Joanna restaurant near the northern gate of Jordan University due to a gas leak. The university's Saturday holiday prevented a higher number of casualties, as students are significantly present in that area during weekdays.
