The German Heart Foundation stated that high blood pressure can be fought with a healthy lifestyle, which may help in some cases to avoid medications. The foundation explained that exercising 5 times a week for at least 30 minutes can lower high blood pressure, noting that endurance sports like walking, running, and cycling are ideal for this purpose.
In addition to exercise, it is important to reduce salt intake, quit smoking, avoid alcohol, manage stress, and ensure adequate sleep. It is worth mentioning that blood pressure is considered high if the measurement is above 140/90 mmHg, and high blood pressure is one of the main risk factors leading to heart attacks and strokes.
