Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Thursday that the airstrikes carried out by Israel overnight, the first since 2006, demonstrated "aggressive and escalatory intentions" towards Lebanon. He added in a tweet that the strikes were a "flagrant and serious violation" of UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and a direct threat to security and stability in southern Lebanon.
