Ten workers were martyred and one was injured from the al-Kharata oil field in a terrorist attack by ISIS on two buses while they were returning from work in the western countryside of Deir ez-Zor. SANA reported that "a terrorist group from ISIS executed an ambush southwest of Deir ez-Zor targeting two small transport buses carrying workers from the al-Kharata oil field, resulting in the martyrdom of 10 and injuring another." Deir ez-Zor Governor Fadel Najjar stated in a comment to SANA that "while the workers were returning from the al-Kharata oil field, they were attacked by an armed terrorist group, leading to the martyrdom of 10 and the injury of another who was transferred to the hospital." The governor noted that "this attack is an attempt to negatively impact the revival of work and production in the facilities and factories and the agricultural sector in the province, in addition to being a desperate attempt to halt the ongoing reconciliations these days."
