Diab Requests the UN to Explore Funding Options for the Special Tribunal for Lebanon

The Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Hassan Diab, in a letter on Friday, asked the UN Secretary-General to urgently explore means to fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon in light of the funding difficulties it faces. Diab stated in the letter, "The government of Lebanon would be grateful for Your Excellency to explore various and alternative means to fund the tribunal urgently with the Security Council and member states."
