Prime Minister Najib Mikati announced "official mourning for the late Arab nation and Islamic world leader, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates." Mikati indicated that flags would be flown at half-mast for three days, starting from this date until Sunday, May 15, 2022, inclusive. An official statement noted that "all administrative institutions, official bodies, and municipalities should adjust regular programming on radio and television stations to align with this painful occasion."
