Yemeni Government Announces the Death of a Military Leader from Hezbollah in Marib

Yemeni Minister of Information Moammer Al-Eryani demanded today, Thursday, a decisive stance from Lebanon regarding Hezbollah's intervention in Yemen and its support for the Houthi group. He confirmed the death of a leader in the military wing of Hezbollah during clashes with the Yemeni army in the city of Marib.

Al-Eryani stated on his Twitter account that "the expert and leader in the military wing of the Lebanese militia Hezbollah, Akram Al-Sayyid, was killed by an artillery strike from the national army in the Am Rish front in Marib governorate." He emphasized that this was "a painful blow to the Tehran regime and its sectarian militias, and a new indicator of its leadership in military operations in the governorate, reflecting the importance of the Marib battle for its expansionist project in the region."

He clarified that "Akram Al-Sayyid (35 years old) entered Yemen in August 2017 as part of a group of terrorists affiliated with Hezbollah, and was dispatched on December 3 of this month with several party experts to the fronts in southern Marib to lead operations and execute an Iranian scheme to escalate confrontations in the governorate."

Al-Eryani noted that "the terrorist was killed alongside the Houthi militia leader known as Abu Ashraf Al-Asadi and 8 militia members, and his body was evacuated aboard an ambulance to the Al-Jubah area, before being transferred to Saada governorate, where dozens of Iranian and Hezbollah experts and fighters are being buried in complete secrecy."
