Barcelona Saves Mohamed Salah

Reports have revealed that Spanish club Barcelona is monitoring the situation of Egyptian winger Mohamed Salah from Liverpool regarding contract renewal before the end of the season. Salah's contract with Liverpool expires in June 2023, which may force the English club to sell him if they fail to reach an agreement for an extension next summer, aiming to gain financial benefits from his sale rather than losing him for free in June next year.

The Spanish newspaper "El Nacional" indicated that Barcelona has included Salah in their summer targets, especially if they fail to sign Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland. The newspaper confirmed that Joan Laporta, president of Barcelona, views Salah as a very suitable alternative to Argentine Lionel Messi, who transferred to Paris Saint-Germain last summer.

Furthermore, the newspaper stated that Salah is currently the player who resembles Messi and has been excelling with Liverpool since his move to Anfield in the summer of 2017. According to the report, Salah is extremely disappointed with Liverpool's management due to an unsuitable renewal offer, as the Egyptian player is requesting a weekly salary of £400,000, which the English club has rejected.
