Minister of Public Works and Transport Ali Hamieh announced that he is "about to launch an international tender for the construction of the eastern building of the airport, which will provide hundreds of jobs, and we will try to include all the services that are not available in the current building." Hamieh made this statement during a tour with caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati at the airport.
