The National Center of Meteorology in the UAE announced that a light earthquake struck the Al-Bataih area of the country on Saturday. In a post on its Twitter account, the National Center of Meteorology stated: "The stations of the national seismic monitoring network recorded an earthquake with a magnitude of 2.4 on the Richter scale in the Al-Bataih area." The center noted that the quake occurred at "3:27 PM, on June 18, 2022, local time in the UAE."
