Will the "Aounis" Resign from the Government?

Will the

Amid escalating political, governmental, financial, and living crises, the authorities in the country are preoccupied with their personal disputes, particularly regarding the formation of the government. The struggle is intense over the formula proposed by the designated Prime Minister Najib Miqati after his parliamentary consultations, as well as concerning the objections raised by President Michel Aoun, with neither party reaching an agreement on any proposal regarding the government's structure or the extent of the proposed rotation in certain ministerial portfolios. This situation leads to the conclusion that there will be no government alternative to the current caretaker government, which holds acceptable balances for all parties involved, regardless of whether it meets all constitutional specifications or if it is a caretaker government with limited powers.

In this context, it has been said that the Aoun team is considering the option of having its ministers resign from the government if the delay in forming a new government continues, viewing this option as a means to pressure the concerned parties to expedite the formation process, as it is deemed unacceptable to continue operating under a caretaker capacity until the end of the term.

However, visitors to Baabda deny to "Al-Markazia" the existence of any inclination among ministers associated with the President or the Aoun team as a whole to resign from the government if the formation process takes too long, as rumored. They express astonishment at the circulation of such damaging news for the presidency, which is making every effort and providing all necessary facilitation to form a cohesive and balanced government capable of dealing with the turbulent regional and international developments. The visitors emphasize that President Aoun would not allow the movement to resort to the option of resignation if it is being contemplated, as he considers such a move to be a leap into the unknown and directed against the presidency before any other party, representing a destruction of the executive power that the President seeks to complete through a new government that meets all specifications and powers.
