New Android 12 Update Automatically Deletes Apps

The upcoming update for Android 12 is expected to include a new feature that automatically deletes some apps and data. If Google follows the same release schedule as previous years, users can expect the next major update in the upcoming fall. This year, Android 12 will be launched for millions of people worldwide, and before the anticipated release, Google has started showcasing features and details in beta versions of the software.

Due to these developer previews, we know that Android 12 will have a new conversation widget, a wallpaper-based theming system, and a redesigned unlock mode. This week, another useful new tool was revealed that will head to Google-supported smartphones with the next Android upgrade.

According to reports from XDA Developers, it seems that Android 12 will automatically delete data from unused device apps to help free up some space. This feature will provide room for more apps, photos, and more by automatically removing temporary files from inactive applications.

Unlike other Android 12 features, the app hibernation tool did not appear in previous Developer Preview releases; however, XDA Developers were able to confirm the inclusion of this feature in Android 12 thanks to a leaked version of the operating system they accessed.

Since only selected app data will be deleted, the amount of space that users ultimately save is likely to be minimal, and it may mainly benefit those using lower-end phones with limited storage capacity, according to the British newspaper Express.
