Celebration Turns into Disaster: Mother Drowns in Front of Her Husband and Children

A celebration for the Orthodox Epiphany turned into a tragic disaster for a mother in front of her children. A Russian mother attempted to celebrate the occasion in an unusual way, which led to her death in a tragic incident. According to the British newspaper "Daily Mail," Anna Oskova, a 40-year-old mother of two, jumped into a water hole in the "Ordizha" River, south of St. Petersburg, to mark the Christian celebration.

The woman managed to jump into the river but could not swim back. Her two sons and husband were nearby when the incident occurred. It was determined that a strong current beneath the ice swept her away. Her husband jumped in after her but was unable to save her, according to Sky News Arabia.

A hole was cut into the frozen "Ordizha" River where Anna jumped, and the weather was extremely cold that night, reaching temperatures of 5 degrees below zero. She was wearing a black swimming suit and held her nose before leaping into the frigid waters. The search efforts by divers in the area failed to locate her body, while her children burst into tears, and a woman present tried in vain to console them.
