Nader Abu El-Leef: I Ate Moldy Bread and Went to Bed Without Dinner

The artist Nader Abu El-Leef stated that he worked in several professions before pursuing a career in singing. He mentioned that he worked in filling sand and gravel, as a store clerk, selling toys in Alexandria, and as a taxi driver. He recounted difficult days when he sometimes went to bed without having dinner.

In an interview on the program "Nass Al-Kalam" on the "Al-Nahar" channel with presenter Ragda Shalhoub, he said, "I spent several days without dinner, and there was a piece of moldy bread that I wiped and ate. I found some salt and cumin, added them to it, and ate it... What’s the problem?"

He continued, as reported by the Egyptian newspaper "Akhbar Al-Youm": "Life has wronged me, and those like me are the ones who wronged me. I came close to death twice, and I learned to live my life because this world is not worth it."

Abu El-Leef also announced that he will release his latest song titled "Asabia" in the coming days and that he will perform alongside artist Mohamed Fouad in New Year’s Eve concerts.
