Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif stated that the conditions discussed by Washington for returning to the nuclear deal are meaningless.
Zarif explained in an interview with Jamaran that President Joe Biden's administration seeks to overcome the circumstances created by the Trump administration without paying a price, attempting to do so at Iran's expense, which he deemed impossible. He noted that if anyone has the right to set conditions for the implementation of the nuclear agreement, it is Iran, not the U.S. Zarif emphasized that the Biden administration has yet to specify the mechanisms and timeline for its return to the nuclear deal, and time is running short for them. He underscored Iran's seriousness in maintaining and fulfilling the nuclear agreement, asserting that it possesses the political will to do so.
On another note, the commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Major General Hossein Salami, sent a message to America during the announcement of the launch of the "Al-Quds Maneuver" for the Basij militia, stating: "We have reached a point where we have truly become independent of the nuclear agreement, and we have realized that the lack of need to lift the sanctions is preferable to lifting the sanctions." He emphasized, "We live with our interconnected hearts; we are a people with a single entity, and as long as we are this way, we will triumph."
