$60 Million from Qatar for the Lebanese Army

Qatar has confirmed its provision of support amounting to $60 million for the Lebanese Army, in line with the directives of the Emir of Qatar, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, according to the Qatari News Agency. This announcement coincides with the visit of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and the Chairman of the Qatar Development Fund to Lebanon for the consultative meeting of Arab foreign ministers called by Lebanon. This announcement is part of Qatar's steadfast commitment to support the Lebanese Republic and stand by the Lebanese people, as well as its strong belief in the importance and necessity of joint Arab action, according to the Qatari statement.
