Continued Violence Incidents: The Whipping of His Minor Son

The General Directorate of Internal Security Forces - Public Relations Section issued the following statement: Information was obtained by the Information Branch of the Internal Security Forces about a person physically abusing his minor son in a village in the Jezzine district. Following this, the relevant branches of the department began their investigations until they confirmed that the incident occurred in the town of Shawaliq, where it was found that the individual known as M.B. (born in 1985, Syrian nationality) had abused his minor son A.B. (born in 2009).

On August 19, 2022, a patrol from the branch raided the suspect's home and arrested him, documenting the signs of torture and abuse through photographs. Upon interrogating the abusive father, he confessed to whipping his son with a water hose. The legal procedures have been carried out against him, and he was referred to the appropriate authorities, based on the instructions of the relevant judiciary.
