The UK Health Ministry has decided to introduce the COVID-19 antibody treatment that was given to former US President Donald Trump when he contracted the virus last year to patients in National Health Service hospitals. Health Minister Sajid Javid praised the drug "Ronapreve" last month as "the first treatment specifically for COVID-19 to receive approval in the UK." The British news agency (PA Media) reported on Friday that the Health and Social Care Ministry stated the drug could benefit thousands of patients, specifically targeting those who have not responded to antibodies against COVID-19. The ministry indicated that it has purchased enough of the drug to treat eligible hospital patients across the UK starting next week. Javid said, "We have a completely new treatment for our most vulnerable patients in hospitals across the UK, and I am pleased it will save lives starting next week."
