El Salvador President Nayib Bukele did not disappoint cryptocurrency enthusiasts, as he stated in a new tweet on Friday that he bought more Bitcoin following a significant drop in its price. The purchases by the Central American nation came after prices fell by around 11% on Friday, trading around the $36,000 level. Bukele wrote in a tweet: "Some people are selling very cheap," adding that El Salvador bought 410 Bitcoin for $15 million, according to Bloomberg, which was reported by Al Arabiya. According to Bukele's tweets, El Salvador - which adopted Bitcoin as legal tender alongside the US dollar on September 7 - had purchased at least 1,391 Bitcoin before Friday. Bukele's latest tweet did not help either him or the cryptocurrency market, as Bitcoin continued to decline after the tweet, trading below $36,000 for the first time since July.
