Libya: Armed Clashes in Tripoli Cease and Family Evacuations Begin

The armed clashes that occurred in the Souq al-Thulath area of the Libyan capital, Tripoli, last night have come to a halt following the intervention of the 444th Brigade, which resolved the conflict and deployed in the area. The 444th Brigade units secured and evacuated trapped families, some of whom sought refuge in the nearby Bab al-Bahr hotel, as well as in cafes and buildings close to the conflict zone. According to information, the clashes did not result in any civilian deaths.

The clashes, which erupted with light and medium weapons on Friday evening, caused chaos and panic among the residents in an area that typically sees large crowds of families escaping the high temperatures and power outages, especially on weekends due to the presence of a public beach, a recreational club, and a large park frequented by citizens. Video footage circulated by media outlets and social media showcases images of citizens, particularly women and children, fleeing in panic through the streets, terrified of stray bullets.
