Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that the Brazilian national team will offer a kind gesture to Real Madrid, who is facing a crucial and challenging match against Athletic Bilbao, as part of the King's Cup football tournament. The newspaper explained that Brazil's coach, Tite, has decided to place Real Madrid stars Casemiro and Vinicius on the bench during the match between Brazil and Paraguay in the World Cup qualifiers. Brazil had already secured qualification for the Qatar World Cup, so the result of the upcoming match will not affect their standing. Thus, resting Casemiro and Vinicius might prepare them for participation with their royal team in the coming days, while also protecting them from potential injuries.
The Brazilian coach had already agreed to release defender Eder Militão early from the "Samba" squad after he received a yellow card during his team’s match against Ecuador, which caused him to be suspended from participating in the match against Paraguay. "Marca" also mentioned that young Real Madrid star Rodrygo may not participate in that match, although it is unclear regarding the former Santos striker.
Real Madrid will play away in the quarter-finals of the King's Cup at 9:30 PM Central European Time on the upcoming Thursday, while Brazil will face Paraguay on Tuesday night, which coincides with the early hours of Wednesday in Spain. Therefore, Tite's agreement to rest the Real Madrid stars could allow Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti to benefit from the contributions of Casemiro and Vinicius upon their arrival in Bilbao to join their teammates.
