Italian club AS Roma announced in an official statement today, Tuesday, that they have appointed Portuguese José Mourinho as the team's coach for the upcoming season, replacing Paulo Fonseca, who will depart at the end of the current season. The statement from the prestigious Italian club mentioned that Mourinho has agreed to a three-year contract with the "Giallorossi" that will last until June 30, 2024.
The statement added: "Mourinho, aged 58, is one of the most successful coaches in sports history, having won 25 major titles in his career so far. His previous roles include managing Porto, Chelsea, Inter Milan, Real Madrid, Manchester United, and Tottenham Hotspur." Mourinho was dismissed from his position as head coach of Tottenham Hotspur on April 19 of the past year. Earlier today, AS Roma also announced the mutual separation from their coach, Portuguese Paulo Fonseca, effective at the end of the current season.
