A statement was issued by MP Ashraf Rifi as follows:
"In commitment to responsibility towards the Lebanese people who will face disappointment due to the continuous obstruction before and after the assignment, I am boycotting the consultations, in light of the system of destruction and the presidency ready to burn the country for the benefit of the in-law. The alliance of arms and corruption shamelessly renews itself, and it is akin to Nero in Lebanon. I will remain alongside all the honest, free patriots to save our dear homeland from this system that has enslaved and destroyed Lebanon. May God protect Lebanon."
