Capsizing Boat Attempting Illegal Departure Off the Coast of Al-Areedah - Akkar

Reports have indicated that a boat capsized off the coast of Al-Areedah in Akkar shortly after taking off on Thursday morning, carrying a group of Lebanese, Syrian, and Palestinian youths. The passengers swam back to shore, where security personnel from the Information Branch are pursuing them for arrest. Security information reveals that illegal departures occur almost daily, particularly from the shores of Al-Areedah and Sheikh Znaad in Akkar, while security forces and the army have begun to intensify surveillance at these locations.
