It has become certain that the deadline for delineating maritime borders in the south in September is not guaranteed, and it may occur in mid-month, as confirmed by official Lebanese sources. However, it is difficult to rely on a specific date, given the Israeli procrastination and the war in Gaza. Betting on negotiations regarding the nuclear deal between Washington and Iran remains within the realm of possibilities.

In light of this atmosphere, communications regarding the formation of a government have diminished, especially after the exchange of heated statements between the designated Prime Minister Najib Mikati and the presidential team led by the head of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil. It has become clear that the caretaker government will continue to manage the country until the end of President Aoun's term on October 31, and possibly beyond in the event of a presidential vacuum.

The essence of the disagreement between the two teams, according to following sources, lies in administrative appointments, as President Michel Aoun and Bassil want to carry out a series of appointments across all positions, particularly the governorship of the Central Bank of Lebanon. This desire has encountered resistance from Mikati and Speaker of Parliament Nabih Berri, who believe it is impossible to impose administrative appointments on the next President. Additionally, there is a disagreement regarding electricity.
