Barcelona has received a second tempting offer in a matter of days regarding the signing of one of its former stars during the ongoing summer transfer window. According to the Catalan newspaper "Sport," Barcelona aims to strengthen the wing position, especially with the imminent departure of Frenchman Ousmane Dembélé at the end of his contract, and the lack of conviction in the performance of Spanish player Adama Traoré, who is expected to return to Wolverhampton after his loan expires.
The newspaper revealed that after reports about Argentine Ángel Di Maria, who left PSG, expressing his desire to play for Barcelona, Chilean Alexis Sánchez, currently a striker for Inter Milan and a former Barcelona player, has offered his services to the club's officials in order to return to Camp Nou. Sánchez, who is 33 years old, previously played three seasons for Barcelona from 2011 to 2014.
The experienced Chilean star played 141 matches with Barcelona, scoring 46 goals and winning 6 titles. The Catalan newspaper noted the difficulty of Sánchez's return to Barcelona due to the club's severe financial crisis, in addition to coach Xavi Hernández preferring to rely on younger players.
Di Maria has a serious offer from Juventus to join this summer, while Sánchez is in discussions with Monchi, the sporting director of Sevilla, who considers Sánchez a significant addition if he joins the Andalusian team. It is worth mentioning that Sánchez's contract with Inter Milan expires in the summer of 2023, at the end of the next season.
