Russian Reconciliation Center: Hmeimim Defenses Shot Down Drone Launched by Militants in Idlib

The Russian Reconciliation Center in Syria announced that the air defense systems at the Russian base in Hmeimim shot down a drone launched by militants from Idlib towards the base. According to a statement published on the official Facebook page of the Russian Ministry of Defense on Monday, "the monitoring systems at the Russian Hmeimim airbase detected a drone at 12:30 PM, launched from territories controlled by armed groups in the Idlib de-escalation zone." The statement added that the "Pantsir-S" air defense system at the Russian base "destroyed the aerial target at a distance from the base." The Russian Reconciliation Center confirmed that there were no casualties or material damage as a result of the incident, noting that the Hmeimim base continues to operate normally.
