Dr. Yelena Shititina, an endocrinologist, announced that consuming vegetables in cases of allergies can be fatal. The specialist indicated in an interview with the newspaper "Vechernaya Moskva" that raw vegetables and foods high in vitamin K can exacerbate stomach diseases, and in cases of allergies, they might cause death. However, leafy vegetables like onions, spinach, and lettuce contain a large number of beneficial substances, such as vitamins A, B, K, and ascorbic acid. These substances help slow down the absorption of cholesterol and carbohydrates, thus qualifying them as dietary products. The expert noted that in cases of allergic reactions to parsley or onions, "consuming them each time may be the last for a person.” Intolerance to these products is also a reason to avoid them. However, this effect is usually temporary, meaning they can be reintroduced into the diet after six months. She added that consuming large amounts of vegetables can negatively affect individuals suffering from gastritis, ulcers, pancreatitis, and kidney stones. Nonetheless, the impact of these products on the body can be reduced while maintaining their beneficial properties through thermal processing.
