Title: Yemen: Casualties from "Al-Qaeda" and Security Belt Forces in Armed Attack

Six members of "Al-Qaeda" and several members of the Security Belt Forces were killed in Abyan Province in southern Yemen following an armed attack by the organization on a security checkpoint belonging to the Belt Forces in the district of Ahwar. This comes after threats issued by Al-Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula, directed at the Security Belt Forces affiliated with the Southern Transitional Council, which launched a military operation called "Swords of the East" to clear Abyan Province of terrorist organizations.
