The Saudi national football team is close to qualifying for the World Cup after a crucial victory against their Omani counterpart, winning 1-0 in a match held at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, as part of the seventh round of Group B in the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 Qatar World Cup. The desire was evident among the stars of our national team from the start of the match, while the Oman team relied on counter-attacks. Early in the second half, Firas Al-Buraikan made his mark by following up on a cross from Sultan Al-Ghanam, nudging it into the Omani goal (48'). In stoppage time, Oman player Arshad Al-Alawi nearly equalized with a powerful shot from outside the penalty area, but goalkeeper Mohammed Al-Owais excelled and deflected it for a corner kick. With this result, our national team secured its sixth victory, reaching 19 points and maintaining its lead in the group, while Oman faced its fourth defeat, remaining at 7 points in fourth place.
