FIFA Issues Official Statement Regarding Final Complaints of World Cup 2022

The International Football Federation (FIFA) has resolved the controversy concerning the final issues related to participation in the World Cup, scheduled to take place in Qatar from November 21 to December 18, 2022. FIFA announced in an official statement today, Friday, that Ecuador will play in the World Cup 2022 after rejecting Chile's claims that it fielded an unqualified player during the qualifiers.

FIFA's statement read: "After reviewing the positions of all parties involved and considering all documents, the FIFA disciplinary committee has decided to terminate all proceedings initiated against the Ecuadorian Football Federation."

Earlier, FIFA received two complaints related to the same matter from the Egyptian and Algerian football federations against Senegal and Cameroon, respectively. FIFA rejected the complaints from Egypt and Algeria and also recognized the qualification of the "Lions of Teranga" and the "Indomitable Lions" to the World Cup in Qatar.

Ecuador and Senegal will compete in the World Cup within Group A alongside Qatar and the Netherlands. Meanwhile, the draw for the Qatar World Cup placed Cameroon in Group G alongside Brazil, Serbia, and Switzerland.
