The Shepherd: This is the President We Need!

The Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Mar Bechara Pierre Raï renewed his call for holding presidential elections on time, considering that "the presidency is the foundation of the existence of the Lebanese entity." In his Sunday sermon from Diman, he indicated that "Lebanon needs a president who defines the boundaries of the state not only with the outside but also internally," adding, "The president's ability to face challenges stems from his morals and resilience against temptations, and the president's capability is his experience in public affairs, so he should not come based on conditions from here and there." He also emphasized that "it is our ecclesiastical duty to address the consciences of the officials and urge them to form a government and elect a president within the constitutional deadlines."
