An Indian newspaper reported the death of an 8-day-old baby girl, who was kidnapped from her bed by a group of monkeys and then thrown into a nearby ditch. The baby was a twin, but her sister survived.
The twin's mother was shocked when she entered the room and found her children missing from their bed after a group of primates invaded their home on Saturday, February 13. Local residents saw the monkeys carrying the infants across rooftops and managed to rescue one of them after it was left on the roof. Tragically, the other baby was later thrown into a nearby ditch and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The heartbreaking incident occurred in Mela Alangam (West Rambert) near Thanjavur Palace in India. The twins' mother, Buvanshwari, claimed that the monkeys entered her home and snatched her sleeping children. She recounted her shock upon seeing the monkeys on the roof and began to scream, only realizing later that her children were missing.
