Tension in Hasbaya Following Assault on Woman

The National News Agency reported that there is significant tension in the town of Hasbaya following an assault on a woman by residents of the town, (A. K. and A. K.), who are Syrians. The two assaulted her with a stick to the head, resulting in injuries. The woman had asked the Syrians to vacate her home after they refused to pay rent. In response, a number of Hasbaya locals gathered in front of the police station, where the Syrians were taken for questioning, demanding accountability for their actions. The police station was reinforced with military forces to help calm the situation.
