On the occasion of the 60th anniversary of independence, and under the supervision of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, a massive military parade of the Algerian army commenced on Tuesday morning in the capital, attended by senior officials. Along National Road No. 11, adjacent to the Great Mosque of Algiers towards the Mokhtar Zarhouni district in Mohammedia, thousands of citizens gathered to watch the military parade, which marked the largest display of the People's National Army units and forces since independence as part of the celebrations commemorating the reclaiming of national sovereignty.
Initially, President Abdelmadjid Tebboune, along with Army Chief of Staff, Lieutenant General Saïd Chengriha, saluted the various forces, including the naval, air, land, and special forces, as well as the youth of the nation. Meanwhile, the Algerian forces fired cannons, announcing the start of the largest military parade of its kind in 33 years. According to brief images and footage from the parade preparations, the Algerian army leadership appears to have decided to showcase all of Algeria's advanced weaponry on this day.
