Minister of Agriculture in the caretaker government, Dr. Abbas al-Haj Hassan, received the Qatari ambassador, Ibrahim bin Abdulaziz Al-Sahlawi, in his office at the ministry, where they discussed agricultural affairs between the two countries and export operations from Lebanon to Qatar.

Al-Haj Hassan emphasized "the Lebanese government's and specifically the Ministry of Agriculture's commitment to exporting all Lebanese products free from any residues to the Qatari markets," affirming "his belief that all Lebanese products are among the best marketed worldwide."

He also confirmed "the commitment of the Lebanese Ministry of Agriculture to all international standards adopted to maintain quality, which is scientifically verified to be free from residues or pesticides, thus opening doors to all markets for Lebanese products, particularly Arab markets."
