Six young citizens have created a new platform to assist job seekers, naming it "Mihna." The platform aims to connect students in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) with companies specializing in these fields in the UAE, with the goal of reducing unemployment. One of the team members, Mariam Al-Marzouqi, stated to "Emirates Today": "I collaborated with my colleagues: Mariam Al-Tamimi, Abdullah Al-Marzouqi, Reem Musbah, Saif Al-Khalidi, and Reem Thamer to bring this project idea to life, inspired by our participation in an intensive training camp for innovation entrepreneurship from MIT, which launched on February 15, organized by the Abdullah Al-Ghurair Foundation for Education, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and the University of the Emirates represented by the Science and Innovation Park."
She added: "During the camp, we were tasked with devising an innovative solution to address the unemployment challenge faced by youth in the Arab region. This platform provides students the opportunity to develop their practical skills and connect them with the scientific knowledge they acquired throughout their academic journey."
Al-Marzouqi emphasized that the platform allows students to showcase themselves in the job market during their university studies, opening new horizons for them, enhancing their relationship with the job market, and equipping them with the necessary skills to become qualified for jobs upon graduation, thus helping them secure positions in their field of specialization instead of working in sectors unrelated to their studies. She mentioned that the project team won first place last week in the "100 Million Stellar Stars" challenge.
