Inter Crushes Milan and Advances to Coppa Italia Final

Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan's forward, scored two goals in the first half to lead his team to the Coppa Italia final with a 3-0 victory over their neighbors and rivals, AC Milan, at San Siro. The first leg ended without goals, but Inter needed just four minutes with Martinez back in the starting lineup, replacing Edin Dzeko, to find the net from a cross by Matteo Darmian.

Milan nearly equalized after half an hour of play through Rafael Leao, but Inter's goalkeeper Samir Handanovic saved the attempt, then the Slovenian goalkeeper excelled again by denying rival Alexis Saelemaekers a goal. Milan paid the price for missing chances when Inter doubled their lead just five minutes before halftime with another goal from Martinez, assisted by fellow Argentine Joaquin Correa.

Milan attempted to score after the break, with Ismaël Bennacer putting the ball in the net, only for the goal to be disallowed for offside. Substitute Robin Gosens then secured the victory, boosting Inter's hopes of winning the cup for the first time in over a decade. Juventus will host Fiorentina in the second leg of the semi-final on Wednesday, with the Turin team holding a 1-0 advantage from the first leg.
