This individual had provided documented confessions of his affiliation with the terrorist organization ISIS, and the Directorate has referred his case to military justice, awaiting the conclusion of investigations to take appropriate measures. The Directorate confirms the imposition of the strictest penalties against anyone found to have violated the clear directives of the Directorate concerning human rights and the opposition to violence and torture.
Certain media outlets have circulated audio and written leaks aimed at presenting a dispute over responsibilities in the proceeding at hand, with the intent to portray a distorted image of the leadership of the Directorate and its officers, all of which is purely fabricated. Therefore, the Directorate General of State Security underscores the unity of its decision-making and its security and national capacities, continuing to carry out its assigned duties with responsibility, precision, and openness. The Directorate reiterates its appeal to various media outlets not to broadcast news related to it that aims to incite sedition and provoke instincts, especially during these delicate circumstances in which Lebanon finds itself.
